Yugambeh Country: welcome, and why some places are not attractions

Lamington is Yugambeh Country — “Meenyahgu yugambeh jagun.” Restricted-access areas (Egg Rock / Kurraragin, Poondahra cliffs, Coomera Gorge and others) are not lookouts. Stay on signed tracks.

We acknowledge Yugambeh Country. A traditional welcome associated with this landscape is “Meenyahgu yugambeh jagun.” This unofficial guide does not speak for Traditional Owner groups or for Queensland Parks. Prefer official acknowledgment wording from appropriate authorities in formal contexts.

Significant First Nations cultural heritage exists in this park. Egg Rock (Kurraragin) is a declared restricted-access area under Aboriginal cultural-heritage law. Other zones are closed for safety or rare species. None of them are “hidden gems.”

Country first

Yugambeh connection to this plateau is living culture, not a preamble paragraph to skip. Walk quietly. Do not take cultural material. Do not publish off-track “secret” coordinates.
